Shortcut to Stumbleupon and Facebook won't open in Chrome.

Hello Everyone I am new to computers and I had created a shortcut that opened up my StumbleUpon page directly in Chrome which allowed me to create bookmarks. I had to run CC Cleaner and also had to remove an unwanted Ask Toolbar. I tried several things to remove the toolbar that were recommended online but the only one that worked was installing Revo uninstaller. I couldn't get the original page back on internet explorer browser and so I ran Windows Fixit. When this was taking forever and seemed to hang up, I just restarted. When I restarted my shortcut that opened directly in Chrome was an explorer shortcut on the desktop and would not open the site in Chrome where I could do the bookmarking. I researched the ways to create the shortcut. I tried to drag the url to the desktop from Chrome but it would only come up as a explorer shortcut. I tried to go to tools and create an application shortcut but this would not get the Chrome circle that allows me to open directly in Chrome. How do I get the shortcut to be, I guess I would call it a Chrome shortcut that has the Chrome emblem as that one opens the pages directly in Chrome and allow bookmarking of selections. This has had me pulling my hair out as I could find no solution. I would appreciate it if someone might have a suggestion other than the ones I have tried. I know Chrome has problems sometimes and I think it has something to do with my browser history being erased or some setting that has been changed as a result of Explorer Fixit or the CC cleaner running. I need the shortcut to have a Chrome emblem and then it works properly. Appreciate It

Hello Lewis, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could use Option Three in the tutorial below to create a website shortcut that will open directly into Google Chrome.

    Hope this helps, :)

out of interest, if you are using stumble just as a back up bookmark server, then you could use xmarks which will sync your bookmarks between your computers, one bookmark saved on my laptop will show on my other pc when i open my browser, it will also sync between different browsers.
and most importantly it backs up your bookmarks to the xmarks server when you close the browser.

    Figured out problem with bookmarks.

I would like to thank everyone for their responses and they were on the money. I was exhausted the evening I tryed to get the shortcut to work and the next morning I did exactly what you suggested and changed my default browser to Chrome and it worked. Something had changed the setting back to explorer and I reset it to Chrome. Thanks for all the support though.
