    Windows Live Mail 2011 contact is strange

    I had no problem transferring all of the other data from my old hard drive, but I cannot bring the Windows Live Mail Contacts into my new created account. I am not using a Microsoft email, but the one from my internet provider. I found the contact list on user/my name/app data/local/Microsoft/Windows Live Contacts/Guid/DBStore. I used a program called LiveContactsView, but it only shows the demographic information and no email addresses. Is there a program or another way to retrieve all of my contact list.

    Welcome to Seven Forums kdsearch. You should be able to export your contact as a .csv file, then open it in Excel if your mail provider does not provide the option to import a .csv file.

    How to Export Contacts and Email Addresses from Windows Mail - About Email

    If you have Excel, or the Excel viewer installed, the .csv file should open when double clicked.

    What is the email provider of your ISP? It may indeed support importing a .csv file. A Guy

    A little thread creep... but,
    Windows Live Mail 2010. Is there a way to NOT show the actual email address in the to block of a multiple recipient email? In Outlook there is a "Display as" option when creating a contact. Can't find anything in Windows live.

    Want it to look like John Doe not: John Doe(jdoe@comcast.net);

    I'm thinking that option does not exist in Windows Live mail, but wanted to ask the experts on this forum.

    Thanks
