Internet Explorer 8 is not opening links to new tab in Windows 7 64bit

    Internet Explorer 8 is not opening links to new tab in Windows 7 64bit


    I have win 7 x64 with IE 8. Whenever i click on link, a new tab incompletely open but a pop up displayed on screen.
    that link may be a pdf, a downloadable file (movie, .exe ), It does happen in IE 9 also, i tried IE 9 by upgrading IE8.

    A pop up shows

    Hello sumersinghwal and welcome to Seven Forums.

    I would look for damaged or corrupt system files. Run a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

    If there are no integrity violations I would make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements for IE9:

    Next, make sure you follow the prerequisites for installing IE9:
