I have followed thru on all the previous advices, in addition, I some time ago uninstalled and reinstalled WLM. All of this didn't get rid of "Goofy". However, if you give me step by step instructions to back up
my addresses/phone numbers, etc and #2 how to uninstall and reinstall WLM I will follow your suggestions and see wha hoppens?

    Have a read here.

Windows Live Mail - Export and Import Contacts

To uninstall do same as the repair that you did but choose uninstall instead. You can reinstall the program from here. reboot after you uninstall Widows Live Essentials.

If this was my machine I would back up the mail and addesses then uninstall and reinstall WLM, before doing that try doing what was suggested in the last post but if you are having no other issues with your pc then back up your mail and addresses, account details and uninstall and reinstall and see how you go. it sometimes saves a lot of stuffing around.
Yes BB I was thinking that earlier hoping it was something simple but it does seem to have got something quite wrong with it eh?

Yeah. When WLM works it works real good, but if it starts stuffing up its a real pain in the clacker.
