    Hotmail will not display correctly

when I login to www.hotmail.com the page will not display correctly (see screen capture attached) all of the pull down menus are expanded and non of the links work. I am using IE 8 and this only happens on one computer all other computers will display the page correctly. Hotmail is the only webpage I have issues with. I have tried to reboot the computer but it doesn't help. This web page worked great until last week but I have not changed and software or setting that I know of.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried clearing out the cache?

    Internet Explorer 8
    1. Click Tools, and select Delete Browsing History.
    2. Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
    3. Click Delete.

    Hi mediver,

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Run the following 'Microsoft Fixit' to restore 'optimal performance' in IE: Fix Internet Explorer issues to make IE fast, safe and stable

    2. If the issue persists, ensure that the 'Java' and 'Flash Player' are enabled in IE add-ons

    3. If it still persists, run the following commands in an 'Elevated Command Prompt':
    - Click 'Start icon' > Type 'run' in 'Search Programs and files' > Right click the 'Search Result' and 'Run as an administrator' > Accept the 'User Access Control' if prompted
    - 'regsvr32 jscript.dll' (Without quotations)
    'regsvr32 vbscript.dll' (Without quotations)

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings; would be glad to assist.

Well that's strange. Internet Explorer and Firefox use completely different rendering engines.

My only guesses are a virus, problem with your internet connection, or problem on Microsoft's end that's affecting you.

I don't have admin right to this computer so I could not run Microsoft Fixit. I did ensure that Java and Flash player were enabled.
Still cannot display hotmail website correctly

    Hi mediver,

Since you are experiencing the same issue with both browsers (Internet Explorer & Mozilla Firefox), the 'Fixit' I suggested may not have worked anyways.

Please check the 'Hotmail Account' in 'Safe mode with Networking' to see if the screen still looks distorted; please check with both browsers (Internet Explorer & Mozilla Firefox). I logged on to my email (Hotmail) with both browsers; and found no such problems.

Would also suggest you to try creating another 'Email account' (with Hotmail) to test it; will help us to isolate if your 'account settings' are corrupt. You may also try upgrading the 'Hotmail account' to the new 'Outlook interface' and see if that works: Outlook Blog - Upgrade from Hotmail to Outlook.com
Note: Upgrading to the new interface does not cause any change to your data; everything in your account remains intact. (Read the web article thoroughly for more details)

@FuturDreamz: I agree; it could be a virus related issue (A scan may be useful)

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings; would be glad to assist.
