    Free e-mail

I am on the lookout for a decent e-mail program to run in Windows 7 but not gmail. Is Outlook still around and being supported by Microsoft?

You can get a free MS Outlook account.

    Hello Bonesy,

Windows Live Mail is a good free email client program. You could also use your Outlook email account in it.

    Hope this helps, :)

I was thinking free Email provider...
In addition to Live Mail, there is Mozilla Thunderbird

I have both, and each have pros and cons (for me), but they are free...

Outlook the client program is available, but it is not free.

I can see confusion setting in here now Microsoft in their wisdom have renamed hotmail webmail service to Outlook to confuse it with Office Outlook the mail app we've all be using for years.

Outlook mail app (the one that installs on your PC not the renamed hotmail web service) is about the best you can get, but Windows live mail and thunderbird are also pretty good.

I agree, I see the confusion with all this.

If this post makes it too much more confusing, delete this post...or let me know and i will.

The OP stated "I am on the lookout for a decent e-mail program to run in Windows 7 but not gmail."
Is there a gmail client program?
If there is, I don't know about it, but I would like to give it a try...

With the thread title of "Free e-mail" and that reference to gmail, is the request about a client program or an email provider...???
