Lately I've been experiencing a slowdown of page loading from my websites. No matter what browsers I use, SeaMonkey, Firefox, Explorer, Chrome, the amount of time that passes before the page is fully loaded is becoming longer and longer. My main browser, SeaMonkey has a green "progress bar" in the lower right corner of the computer and that is how I gauge the speed of the loading process. The initial page loading is very quick but to get the page fully loaded and for all text and graphics to appear is now taking 30-40 seconds depending on which site I am accessing. Automobile.com, very heavy on graphics, sometimes takes as much as a minute to fully load. Yahoo.com takes about 2 seconds, pgatour.com takes about 7 seconds, wsj.com about 3 seconds.
I theorize that because of the heavier use of graphics and advertising on my auto sites, I should expect the pages to load somewhat slower and I do. Is there anything that I can use or do to speed up the page loading process for my graphics laden sites?? Is there something obvious that I am missing? I'm using Windows 7 and have an I3 processor.
