Just wanting users opinions on IE 10 that will be coming to Win 7 here in the very near future. (It's the final version). Is it worth the download upcoming or not? You experts here would know. If not I will install the IE 10 blocker.
I won't block it initially and I want to give it a try.
I like to keep my systems updated for hopefully "the latest and best security".
Whenever I make a major change I create a System Backup Image before making the change.
That way, I can back out the change if it doesn't work out, causes problems, etc.
I always create a Backup Image for:
- Patch Tuesday
- A new SP (Service Pack)
- A new version of IE
- A new version of MS Security Essentials (or any AV/AM program)
- Whenever I want to test a new Program or make a significant configuration change
I'm at a point where I don't make any changes to my Primary "Machine" without first testing the change on my "Test Box".
So, for me a Monthly Backup Image is enough on my Primary PC...
I do test many things on my Test Box, so I backup (and restore) a LOT more...
My primary browser is Firefox, but I want to try the new IE 10.
I don't want to install it prior to the official release...
I've read about issues with people installing a "pre-release" where there are problems after the official release.
I'm looking forward to seeing it!
SYSTEM BACKUP IMAGING - the best thing since sliced bread.
I do hide updates for things I don't want such as Language Packs, Bing Desktop, Drivers (I don't want), etc.
I would not want to hide an update like this, as future IE security updates may depend on this update.
Just my opinion/2 cents ...

I am using Windows 8 (Don't hurt me) and am actively using IE10. It is phenomenal on Win 8. I am sure it will be the same for Win 7. Lots of changes have been done under the hood. On Win 8, the flash player is built in into IE10, but I am not sure if it will be for Win 7.
I think I will give IE10 a try,I will BACKUP first.
I'm using IE 10 Release Preview as my main web browser right now and I have to say it is phenomenal in my opinion. Definitely better than any previous version. You can finally have IE x64 as the main browser by turning on Enhance Protection Mode, it has an integrated spell-checker that seems better than the ones in Chrome and Firefox to me, and they made slight visual changes that makes it look better than 9 in my opinion.
I'm also using IE 10 Release Preview in win 7! It's so fast and better! Looking forward to the final ie 10!

If you want to test it without risking your system, install a virtual machine and throw it there, so you can see it and revert to whatever version you're using in the real one. And only install it after you like it for your computer.
