Thanks. Yes I could do that but I like to stay updated for security and future compatibility. Are others finding it quirky accessing 'internal' devices web UI?
now if you said you were on windows 8 and wanted only ie9 I could see your point, but I cannot see Microsoft not supporting ie9 until they stop supporting Windows 7 and that will not be for at least another 4 years, by then you might need a new computer :)

and, I am not even going to consider ie10 for at least 6 months till I see all the bugs out of it

All support for Win7 will end 01/01/2020 almost seven years from now.

I agree. I always wait before doing an update to make sure there are no reports of problems. I pretty much expected the fiasco with IE10 when M$ announced they were pushing up the release date.

I don't use it enough to really comment on it. Downloaded it surfed for an hour, closed it opened Opera and haven't used it since. No problems I saw in that short time, nor did it affect my Aero. Guess I dodged the bullet there! While checking it out I did find out how much faster my secondary browser turned out. (Maxthon, much more HTML5 compliant too) And am using IT now more than IE 10.

Is this quirkiness on your W7 or W8 system?
Can you share an example website or two?
Also, are you using 32bit or 64bit tabs?

Well I uninstalled IE10 which bought IE9 back. Seems ok, no change on external site performance but accessing my internal devices via IE9 is back to being fast again. Did encounter an issue where 'save target as' wasn't working but resetting internet explorer seemed to sort this out.

Will test a lot more tonight. I noticed all YouTube videos seem to be running under flash again whereas many of them were running HTML5 before. Not sure how to fix it, hopefully it's as simple as opting in again. Internet Explorer 9 works with HTML5 video without need for additional downloads right?

I agree with RobinB9, I should of waited many months before even considering IE10. Why fix something that wasn't broke, all it's done is cause me avoidable grief!

    Cheers

I just downloaded and installed the blocker. The more I read about IE10's "features" and problems, the less I like it.

Well I am back with IE9 and I have some sort of normality back too no slow loading no flicking of the screen before it settles on what I want and as for Aero well thats just "bling" and a muncher of memory not that I haven't got enough but all the same.

Most importantly I can access my employers electronic pay site again. I for one am going to wait for M$ to get it right before I try it again and I won't be holding my breath
