    Try here
On Firefox Menu > Help > About Firefox > Check for Updates

Try starting FF with "Run as administrator" and see if that helps.

it may be add on related, i have had issues in the past with ff not updating after downloading the update.

i would back up my firefox profile for safety and then download and install from the mozilla site.

in case you dont know , click help/ troubleshoot information/ click the profile folder button.
then you can copy it safely somewhere.

David - You are right on. After logging in as Admin, Followed C-11s advice and the update downloaded and installed.
    Thank you both.
Strange, though. After updating, I was taken to their home page which said FF was up to date. This happened three times. I would get my normal homepage and then be redirected immediately to the FF homepage.
Also, my bookmarks were hosed until I was finally released from their home page. Then, the bookmarks reappeared as if nothing had happened.
I'm starting to have second thoughts about FF. Too many strange happenings.
    Thanks, again.

Boohbah - Thank you for the information. I think saving your FF profile is important, but I didn't know how it was done.

    I like FEBE Firefox Extension
FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your extensions individually into installable .xpi files. Now you can easily synchronize your office and home browsers.

FEBE backs up and restores your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, cookies. and much more.

Backup as little or as much of your Firefox environment as you wish. Perform backups on demand or schedule daily, weekly, or monthly unattended runs. Sequential backups can be stored in timestamped directories so you can restore back as far as you like.
    FEBE :: Add-ons for Firefox

I just back up my profile manually with FEBE, to a single fbu. file.

    You're welcome.
When I update this way and then re-start FF without "Run as administrator" it takes me to the page that says it's updated.
But I only get this 1 time.
I always close that page right away, so maybe i never noticed if bookmarks are hosed...
I'll have to pay better attention next time I update
Anyway, glad you got it sorted.
