Web browser delay on certain sites

This is my first post, good day.

A few days ago my browser, Firefox, fails to load certain sites: the loading blue circle just revolves until it times out. I have the same problem in IE so don't think it is a browser problem.

There is no problem on my laptop (Windows 8) and thus assume the router/ISP is not the issue.

With some sites that start to load and show part of the page, if I right click the tab to reload, the missing page info appears and then goes into the reload cycle. To the best of my memory I have not added new programs or fiddled with any. I've have done a full scan and there are not viruses or Trojans Panda can find.

Sites I can't get are media rich, new pages mainly but Adobe and Bing as well.

I hope this is clear and in the right area of the forum.

    Fingers crossed someone can help.

Do you have the same anti virus and firewall on the computer that doesn't work compared to the computer that does work. I didn't know anybody still used Panda.

It could be as simple as having too many things opened at the same time. To many tabs or torrants running at the same time on the effected computer. Stop everything and then just try the site you are having problems with.

You could also try this on the affected computer.

Sections 7 and 8 will probable help also.

Having built my pc's for some while I'm used to tweaking. All/most of the suggestions in Optimizing W7 are already in place but thanks for the suggestion.

Everything is turn off, no torrents, modem and router rebooted and still no joy. Very frustrating.

Can you do a internet speed check on both computers and then compare.

I factory reset my router this am, Linksys E2000 and now the problem is on my laptop as well. Is there anyway to see if that is the problem? I've tried to google the question but google hangs as well

    1.5mb up and .45mb down.

I've plug directly into the modem and everything is fine. Although the router on network and non media rich sites is ok, for some reason it's hanging on other sites. Routers dont seem to last long these days - about 18months on the last 3.
