Notifications that new mail has arrived but no mail is there I keep getting notifications that new mail has arrived but no mail is there. I have 5 seperate email accounts in Live Mail and this has been happening for weeks now to the point where it's driving me nuts. Can someone explain why this should be happening?
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium and Live Mail Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308)
The small pop up window from the taskbar shows the mail icon with a yellow envelope in front and when I hover over it it says 'You have new email.' | My System Specs |

Hi,
Have you checked to see that the mail isn't ending up in a "Junk" or "Spam" folder?

In Options > Safety Options see if you have "Permanently delete suspected junk....." checked.
Maybe junk mail is getting delivered and deleted? | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number home built OS Win 7 Pro x64 SP1, Win 7 Ult x86 SP1 CPU AMD Athlon II x4 620 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3H Memory 6GB GSkill DDR2 800 Graphics Card AMD 4670 GPU + AMD 4200 IGP Sound Card on board Realtek ALC889A Monitor(s) Displays RCA 40" LCD TV, Insignia 32" LCD TV, HP 15" LCD monitor Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050... If you have that option checked, my guess is that's what causing your "false notifications".
If you want to be sure that is the problem, you can temporarily disable the "Permanently delete option", to see if you do get a new email (junk or not) whenever you get a notification.
If you want to send yourself Junk mail to test this theory quicker, let me know...that is possible if you are willing to make some WLM configuration changes and spend some time testing.
Hope this helps,

How do you temporarily disable the "Permanently delete option," as I can't see that in options? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit |

You're welcome!
If you had it checked and unchecked it, hopefully that will explain why you have the notification issue.
I can't disagree that it would be nice to not get notified for deleted messages, but...... | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number home built OS Win 7 Pro x64 SP1, Win 7 Ult x86 SP1 CPU AMD Athlon II x4 620 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3H Memory 6GB GSkill DDR2 800 Graphics Card AMD 4670 GPU + AMD 4200 IGP Sound Card on board Realtek ALC889A Monitor(s) Displays RCA 40" LCD TV, Insignia 32" LCD TV, HP 15" LCD monitor Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050...
