    Problem with links in IE9

My friend runs Windows 7 with IE9. She has recently lost the ability to open links from within sites on IE9. She uses Google as her search engine. The problem seems to disappear if she uses Google Chrome but she tells me that she would prefer not to do so.

I have run System Restore and that temporarily resolved the problem. However, when the Windows Update introduced on or about 26/03/13 (KB 2807986?) is re-installed, the problem re-emerges.

Has anybody else run into this problem or know of a fix?

Why not simply avoid the problematic Windows update?

I think it may have something to do with Google. Google Chrome may be set as your default browser. You might need to get into Internet Explorer and set it as your default browser.

Thanks to those who provided answers to my post. The problem seems to have been an improperly installed IE10 which I have removed, reverting to IE9. I'll retry installing IE10 at a later date. :)
