Microsoft takes over homepage in I.E.9

My home page is google.com but the last few days when I open I.E. 9, microsoft.com comes up in address bar and then waits for a response from msn and then msn page opens. Have changed my home page dozens of times back to google.com but it keeps changing it over again to msn. Is there a fix for this?

Probably this is not related to the above problem but now today I can't move any icons on my desktop. I drag them but they pop right back - even right clicking and dragging doesn't work either. Tried unlocking the task bar but that doesn't work either.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

For the icon, right click on the Desktop, select View and make sure Auto Arrange is not checked.

How do you start IE9? Via a normal Blue E icon or some other link on your Desktop?

For what it's worth, MSN is acting up again. Both my Windows 7 & 8 machines can't access MSN.com

Microsoft takes over homepage in I.E.9

Hi Ztruker - thanks for the quick reply. Desktop view of icons - "auto arrange' is not checked but have 'align icons to grid' is checked.

I start I.E. 9 via a blue E icon on the task bar, but the blue E icon on the desktop has the same results.

Your homepage could be getting highjacked by something you downloaded, it happens to people all the time.

    Veegee

    Run DDS

    Download

Double click the dds icon to run the tool.
Place a check next to attact.txt and click Start . When done, DDS will open two logs
    DDS.txt
    Attach.txt
Save two logs onto your desktop and upload them with your reply

    THEN

    Download AdwCleaner

    Download

    Save to the Desktop

Right-click on adwcleaner.exe and choose Run as administrator

    Click the Search button

Upload the AdwCleaner[Sn].txt in your reply.

VistaKing - Thank you for your offer of help.

    attach.txt

    dds.txt

Sorry but I am having a problem getting the download for ADW Cleaner. When I click the link provided, it says that the time for it has expired and redirects to a different place. Clicking on download for ADW there, it is only a download for a Utility Toolbar.
    Thanks.
