    Youtube no sound in firefox

This started a few days ago, I played any youtube video and then no sound after the first few seconds. Chrome doesn't have this problem, I tried updated to the latest flash player but it still exist. What do I need to show you to help me solve the problem?

    Thanks.

Check first the most common reason for this issue:

Right click the Sounds control icon in notification area, select Open Volume Mixer. Check that Firefox sounds are not muted. See the screenshot, mute / unmute switch highlighted:

Backup your FF profile with MozBackup if it is important, if not forget that step and then reset FF using these instructions

better still when backing up firefox,
click help/ troubleshooting information . click show folder on the profile folder tab and then copy the folder to a safe location.
you will have to close firefox before pasting the folder.

i prefer to know i have a good copy and not rely on a third party back up for my firefox profile, i had mozbackup cock up my profile in the past and i dont rely on it now.

use it if you like but as a safety measure make your own copy too.

as for the youtube sound issue, this may be a daft question but have you got the volume bar turned up on youtube itself

Strange I've never had one single problem with MozBackup and I've used it for every backup I've ever done

The plus with MB is that you can pick and choose what you want to backup, so addons, history, bookmarks, etc can be saved, but the rest of the possible problem files can be left behind, and upon restore you have a perfectly clean FF install with just your wanted customisations and saved files restored :)

I agree though, two backups are better than one

I updated the latest flash player a couple of times and it seems working right now.
