IE 8 32-bit crashes when downloading any file

Hi guys. I have had this annoying problem for a while on my laptop. Whenever I try to download something from IE 32-bit, and I click on save, a dialog pops up with "Internet Explorer has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to the problem."

And then it just restarts IE. I don't have this problem with my 64-bit browser. I tried looking in event viewer and I see this :

Faulting application name: iexplore.exe, version: 8.0.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce79912
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17725, time stamp: 0x4ec49b8f
    Exception code: 0xc0000374
    Fault offset: 0x000ce6c3
    Faulting process id: 0x13bc
    Faulting application start time: 0x01ce3ce74012dd03
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll
    Report Id: 7f527983-a8da-11e2-8a7a-001e33257efa

Any ideas guys? It will be much appreciated as I have been having this problem for so long!

    Hi Shank,

I would try to run the sfc /scannow command to see if there is any corrupt files: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Hello shank, if the SFC doesn't help, some things I would try.

Boot to Safe Mode with Networking and see if the same behavior happens there.

    Safe Mode

If not, try a Clean Start to see if there is a conflict

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

You can try Re-registering the dlls for the 32 bit version

Thanks for the reply guys. I did the reset that day when I came across it while looking through the options and it worked! Forgot to update it over here. However, I have another question now. I can't seem to click on the button "Shop at the business store" on this website Apple Store for Business - iPad - Apple Store (Singapore)

    Works in Firefox. Any ideas?

Hmmm, not really, it's a common relative link

    <a href="/go/ipad/business"><button class="merch blue">Shop at the Business Store</button></a>

    Leading here

    http://store.apple.com/go/ipad/business

You might try the compatibility view settings, Option Three

Internet Explorer Compatibility View - Turn On or Off

Have you considered moving to IE9?
