    problem with IE 10

    hello all.
I have recently noticed an annoying error on my girlfriends machine which had IE10 running Ok until recently. When you close a tab or exit an error window appears stating "internet explorer has stopped working" and searching for a solution........etc. browsing is fine its only when exiting this happens

    o/s 32bit win7 home premium.
as its not my machine I don't know exactly when it started.

I have tried going back to IE8 and back again still same.
all updates are up to date.
everything else seems ok, no viruses etc.

    any ideas anyone.

Do a full reset of IE 10, reboot, and see if the problem still exists.

As an aside, I've also found that running CCleaner causes DOM store caches to be deleted which can tend to screw up certain web sites (things not displaying properly, not "IE has stopped working" errors).

I have uninstalled then re-installed back to IE8 and back again to IE 10.
what do mean by full reset?(never hear of it before)
I do use ccleaner and have never had a problem.

as I said browsing is fine its only when I close IE I get the error message.
    thanks for the quick reply.

Go to Tools => Internet Options=> Advanced Tab => Reset button, and choose to also delete personal settings (will not delete favorites). Once complete reboot your system.

If you want to help yourself uninstall IE10 and go back to IE8 like you was using and then install IE9, its much faster
