Internet Explorer 10 and automatic cookies delete

    Hello guys,

I am running Windows 7 64 bit, and I upgraded to Internet Explorer 10 about a month. Since then my cookies keeps on being automatically deleted approximately once a week! [Never had this problem in IE9]
Although I haven't changed any settings to my Norton Internet security, I thought it might be the problem. So I disable delete tracking cookies option in Norton yet the problem continued!

Does anyone have the same problem? Is there any solution out there?

    Thanks guys.

The only default setting to overwrite anything in temp files set at 20 days,
Cookies do not apply to that setting,
I'd contact Norton for assistance because as far as I know ie10 is no different than prior versions it retains cookies as long as a user allows it.

Hello, Stilltime and welcome to seven Forums. No, I have not had that problem. You may try to going to tools in the top of ie, click that, the last entry should be internet options, click that and on the first page look at browsing history. That includes your history, stored images of web pages you've been to and cookies. Select settings. You can set how much space is reserved for those items and how long ie should keep them. The default should be 20 days, I believe. See if that helps.

    thanks guys,
In Internet Explorer 9 I had my temporary Internet files set to 70 MB and my history is set to 3 days. I did that because I have a small ssd and I don't want it to be filled! Anyway the settings got carried over to Internet Explorer 10 properly and my history is only available for 3 days but my cookies gets deleted every seven days or so. On the same day that my cookies gets deleted, I check my history and all three days are still available.

In any case, I took your advice and increase my temporary Internet file and set my history to 20 days. I will report back if this happens again.
    Thanks

I retain temp files for Zero days and delete on exit so as far as I know Cookies retention is a totally separate section which can be Unchecked, Alt+TD Uncheck the Cookies box-third from the top.

I guess we're having the same problem. All my logins for websites like Facebook, Yahoo, IMDb, etc. disappear every seven days or so. I don't know if it's because of cache or cookies being deleted automatically.

There seems to be chatter over at Norton re NIS, they seem to feel it has something to do with tracking cookies.

I use NIS 2013 they are only talking about IE10 and NIS will see if Norton do something and I will post if so

Actually, I think I solved it. My Norton Internet security "quick scan" is scheduled to run every seven days and delete tracking cookies! I managed to disable it. If you're experiencing the same problem you can go to the following website which explains how to configure your "quick scan".
