Live Mail so slow compared to Outlook Express...

Just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 (Outlook Express to Live Mail, or is it Outlook.com??) what the hell are you people doing with this simple mail program?
Why is Live Mail/Outlook.com?? so slow in retrieving simple mail calls? when Outlook Express did it perfectly without hesitation for years?

Will you please Re-release Outlook Express for Windows 7 and stop fiddling with your micro-soft parts.

    Mistakes MS have made AFAIC:
Killing off Messenger, the only chat program I liked and used.
Killing off Outlook Express, a perfectly good mail program for something that is much slower and feels & looks awkward to use,
Killing off Windows 8?! which I just got for my laptop,
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING!

I've had to correct Windows 7 & Windows 8 with 'Classic Shell' to get functionality & familiarity back on the base OS....I simply should not have to do this!

First, we are NOT Microsoft. Just a user PC support web site. We had nothing to do with Microsoft killing off Outlook Express.

Outlook is still around but it is part of Microsoft Office suite of programs. I still use Outlook 2003 for my POP (ISP) e-mail.

However, I have used Windows Live Mail with my ISP e-mail, doing some testing and support for my clients and it works as fast as Outlook.

If you are using the new Outlook (that replaced Hotmail) that is a different issue and I've seen slow response from Outlook.com

I have been using WLM since it came out and upgraded with it, I do not find it slow at all. It would only be slow if you were having a problem with your internet provider with mail coming in or out.

    Well that's great to hear....

Nothing to do with ISP, as Outlook Express works fine when I switch back over to XP. It blitzes compared to Live Mail in getting mail from 3 sources.
One thing I have noticed while waiting for Live Mail to do its thing is there is no progress bar like Outlook Express except for some small text bottom right on the bar.

I'll continue trying a few different settings to see if it can be improved....

Ah Ha think i found the culprit: FEEDS!! now this is a strange beasty I followed your link to IE feeds but nothing there about Live Mail. So the Question is how to manage feeds in WLM.
When i go to Manage Feeds in WLM then Add Feed I put the suggested web address www.SevenForums.com in but says is not a valid RSS Feed.
Is there a button on the www.SevenForums web site that I should be clicking for Feeds? just that I can't see one anywhere.

MS is doing away with the Live Branding. I never use RSS in all my time on The Net. I see no use for it.

I have never used the RSS feeds, either. I have no need for them.

Yeh... got rid of Microsoft Feeds and it is slightly faster in getting mail.
...while I'm fiddling around with this I might add a few to see how it goes. Is there an RSS Feed for Seven Forums? I take it there would be XML? code like a web address to plug into WLM
Haven't used RSS before so in a dark room about this and how it works with a mail app.
