Safari browser disables taskbar and windows

Hi guys hope you can help

I am using Safari and have been a while. For some strange reason it now disables the taskbar when run. As this web browser is being run I cannot run any other application until I close Safari. What has happened

I have Windows 7 RC 64 bit and like safari but this is strange behavior. The last thing I changed on my system was to remove some Microsoft intellipoint software for both keyboard and mouse as it disabled some buttons my my HP remote, which I needed.

What is causing this strange behavior?

Any clues as to why this is will be much appreciated thanks

p.s. Now Opera and Chrome do the same thing, while they are open everything else is not accessible, why??

    Hi,

Have been having exactly the same problem with the same OS (Win 7 x64) and the same browsers! Have no problems, though, with IE 8 and Firefox 3.5. The only thing I can add is that if I first open Firefox and then open Safari, Opera or Chrome (all the latest versions) they don't prevent me from accessing other applications. Is there some kind of clue here? I'm not skilled enough to work out anything!

    Hi again formation 4,

My version of Win 7 x64 is the retail version but I still have the same problems as you had with the RC. Strange, as Chrome worked fine with the RC version I had installed before!! I read somewhere that using registry cleaners, which I do, could sometimes cause such behaviour. As it is, I've uninstalled Opera, Chrome and Safari and just use Firefox and IE 8 which are more than enough for my needs. When I have time I'll perhaps reformat my HDD and start from scratch.
