    E-mail Compatibility

My Bro. in Canada uses Yahoo Mail. I use Windows Live Mail. I receive his OK. He receives mail and photo attachments OK but video attachments either fail to start or drop out. Are there compatibility problems between these e-mail providers?

If he is trying to download large video files, his ISP might not allow a very large video to come in, he should check with his Internet provider first to see what size file he can download via his mail server. Somewhere on yahoo.com it states how large a video file you can bring in using your web browser

Sent three video files, 2.15MB:5.77MB and 6.29MB. As you say, they could be too much for Yahoo. I will pass on you advice. Thanks very much for replying. Artoro.

Yahoo! Mail lets you send emails up to
    •10 MB in total size.
    This size encompasses both
•the message itself and all its attachments.
For Yahoo! Mail Plus users, the combined email and attachment size limit is 20 MB.

see so if you add all those videos together you exceed the size
why not have him try to do them one at a time
    in 3 separate emails

All the 3 files together are most likely to be larger than what the mail accept, and consider that attachments actually takes around 33% more space than the file size itself (since they're encoded in Base64). Send 3 mails, one for each file, or for larger files, upload the file to some shared hosting like Megaupload, and send the link in the mail instead.
