Link between BT and Yahoo email accounts

I have upgraded my Yahoo email account today to a paid account.

I use BT Broadband so previously had (have ?) a free BT Yahoo Email Account.

When I open Yahoo.com and click on mail I still get BT Yahoo Mail.

    Are these inseparable ?

Thanks for illuminating link. Probably should stay with BT Yahoo. My biggest problem no is linking either Yahoo or gmail to Windows Live but am getting some help with that today.

Most welcome .... Maybe you might consider switching from BT once your contract is up ... I used to be with them a number of years ago ... Found them to be very unhelpful with any issues i had

i got a BT email account when i first signed up with bt ,i also have a yahoo.com account yahoo wont let you sign into two accounts at the same time, the way round it is to use a chat client like trillian be signed into them so clicking on a notification from trillian opens your inbox for either account depending on which one it is.
or sign in with different browsers for each one.

be aware that BTyahoo has changed its policy now and accounts NOT signed into in 150 days will be closed, this doesnt affect the email address being used as your login to "my bt" if it is the same.

Link between BT and Yahoo accounts

I have since discovered that I only have a sub account and even though I updated to Yahoo (and paid for it) I have only updated my sub account. As my husband hasn`t updated his and he is the Primary Account holder, that poses another problem. Knowing how well (!) they deal with problems, I`ve just realised I`ve probably let another hare loose in the field !

However, my mail is currently coming and going ok and so long as I don`t mix up the single gmail address I have managed to establish, with the main default bt internet sub account address, I can presently send and receive.

2 days ago I managed to get into my husbands primary account (with his very dubious permission !) because I know his user name and password and I deleted two extremely ancient sub sub account addresses I had never managed to use, and added two new ones. When I tried emailing one of them just now, BT informs me I have no account with that name ! I tried to get into my husband`s account to check they were still there but got the message the password is invalid. I think I had better leave well alone for a while or I will mess up my husband`s account as well.

Thanks for the info that Yahoo wont let you open two accounts at once. What does this mean in practice - that you can`t open gmail while Yahoo is up in the browser ?

Re: account closing in 150 days, they might actually be doing me a favour. I`m just about to try and forward the emails I need to keep to Windows Live. Though I saw on web some people complaining that occasionally Windows Live loses people`s emails too. I am going to start saving all important ones out of the email system altogether I think.

It seems to me that one of the problems with BT Yahoo is that it is so SLOW that you get impatient waiting for them to register something like a change of password and do it again before they`ve got through the first change. I changed my gmail password and they recorded it in a flash.

Sorry to ramble on. Thanks for listening.
