NoScripts is a great tool, but gees...now that I see how convoluted websites are, with all the links to ads, counters, and data mining sites it makes me cringe!

Yeah, I fell in love with NoScript very quickly when I discovered all of the garbage on every site. lol

Regarding what happened to you just now though: omg. What the hell happened? lol That's the only reaction I can have because I've never had to reinstall NoScript.

Every "new" site that I visit, the first thing I do is find out how much I can "forbid" before the site breaks. hehe Sometimes I can forbid everything but the main site. lol

However, and this can be a big one: watch out when ordering things on the internet. Pay close attention to the NoScript icon. The first time I ordered something after installing NoScript, I had to allow an extra server or 2 when checking out and once while submitting an order. lol So there are times, depending on my mood, where if I'm ordering from a new site, I might just choose "Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous)" and then begin placing my order. lol Other times I have a little more energy or something and I watch NoScript every step of the way.

Anyway, I'm glad that it seems to have been nothing. It could have even been a server error on their end, meaning that it could have been totally unrelated to NoScript.

The real reason I did the reinstall is frustration - I had this pull down menu of dozens of forbidden links on that site and after wasting more then an hour and not getting anywhere I decided that maybe starting over was the easiest option., Of course I didn't think about the fact that I had already applied different levels of NoScript to a countless number of sites!

I wondered about the "time lag" when I was ordering stuff - in fact the first time I tried to make an online purchase I had to keep adding "temporary allows" to finally make a purchase. That's another of those learning curve things I need to spend time on, since the temporary allows go away after I close the sites down. Right now my brain doesn't seem to have the capacity to remember what I'm learning (and writing stuff down is too hard thanks to a stupid injury - I partially severed my index finger so after the emergency surgery 8 days ago it's in a cast). ARGH!

Take care!

Hmm. I only use Temporarily Allow for things I'm not sure of but want to know if there's any reason I need them. If I discover I need them, then I make the permissions permanent. If I discover that I don't, then I revoke the temporary permissions. I never use Temporarily Allow when I'm making purchases because that would mean that I'd have to temporarily allow that server or those servers every time.
