Internet Explorer and SysInternals' Process Explorer
(I'm aware of the SysInternals Forum but I can't seem to get a registration e-mail out of it.)
IE can take A LOT of cpu. So I have long used Process Explorer to see which web sites are associated with the high-cpu instances of IE. (It's not a perfect technique as it does not identify which site is the culprit, but at least it narrows it down.)
But Process Explorer no longer displays the web sites (I guess it was actually displaying the titles of the windows/tabs). Now it shows me only Command Line and Path information. This may have started when not too long ago IE was updated. In any event the IE I am running now is IE10. I thought that maybe Process Explorer needed an update too but that has not helped.
I would gladly dump IE and use Chrome, which tells me exactly which tabs/sites are soaking up huge amounts of cpu, but Chrome (on my system at least) has a huge video problem. FF I don't even want to consider because it's such a disaster on my XP laptop.
So it would be great if I could just get Process Explorer to give me the IE info it used to. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Bob
