Trying to Reset IE10, getting message

I'm trying to reset IE10 back to default settings as I just re-installed it on my computer and when I do it it tells me to close any open programs, why do I have to do this for, I would much rather keep doing what I'm doing and just close Internet Explorer to do it please help, and I also downloaded and installed it from Windows website

It's to prevent the possibility of any other programs that rely on IE from having problems, errors, or even serious problems. Instead of listing all of the programs that rely on IE, they just make it easier by telling us to close any open programs.

I just closed IE10 and left all of my other programs open and sure enough when I hit the reset button it reset without a problem and with my other programs I was using besides IE
