I tried doing this, but there was a delay in restarting because itlookedlike it froze, and was a pain to try and get to use it. But the problem remains.

Did it finish ?

Copy and paste the code below into Notepad. To open Notepad, click on . Inside type notepad and then press <ENTER> button .

Code:
@Echo off
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset all
netsh int ip reset all
cls
echo Script finished.
pause
del %0
In Notepad, click File and then Save. Type reset.bat inside file name section . Change Save as Type to All Files, and then save the file to your desktop. After the file is saved, right click on the RESET.bat choose . Once it's finished running, restart your computer. Check to see if your Internet connection is restored.

Okay, did it. And still the same. She just came back from work, and it worked there. So home computers no, but yes to work computers? Again, its just her account, not mine on either.

How about her firewall settings is that site being blocked ? What error message do you get . Are you trying to get to the Facebook website or login to Facebook ?

I don't want to get in the way here, but have you tried to access Facebook in Safe Mode with Networking?

I don't think so, but then again how can you tell? I mean the site is not being blocked, its just that she can't log in and its on home computers, not work computers which is weird. The screen that appears when she tries to log on, upon clicking the log in button, is this:

Uninstall Online backup . Open up IE without add-ons and see if you could login to Facebook .

Is it at the add/remove/uninstall programs list? Also, its not IE, its Firefox she uses. IE is the same anyways with the problem, but she uses Firefox primary.

The Norton Backup software is on the Programs and Features window ( add / remove for XP )

Click on type in Programs and Features ( lower case or upper cases don't matter ) inside and press [ENTER] button

To start Firefox without the Add-ons enable :

At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.... Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog.
