How can I get FF to remember my password?

    Good morning all,

I had to change my password for my Yahoo account and cannot get FF to remember the new password, and then i removed the password completely with password manager and cannot get FF to ask to remember the user/password when i go to log in.

How can I get FF to ask to remember it?

First steps: Remove any/all Yahoo cookies, check password manager for any Yahoo passwords and remove if found, empty Firefox cache, restart Firefox.

I have (repeatedly) tried theses steps without success.

I am trying to clear the cache separately, but with my current version of FF the box that would normally have the clear cache buttons are not were i expect them to be, and i cannot find them to clear the cache by itself. FF 22.0

It is right here: Options/Advanced/Network/Cached Web Content. The page which you were reading would appear to be out-of-date, although I don't know with which Firefox release this process changed.

The solution is both easy and obvious: Don't use a password....

I suggest that you post a question on the Thunderbird forums at Index page • mozillaZine Forums ; unfortunately, you will need to register to do that, but in turn you will be presenting your problem to many experts who ought be able to find an actual solution.

I use a bookmarklet to remember a few passwords for me in FF.

Just right click on remember password at the site below > then Bookmark this link.

"Then click on remember password just before submitting the form with your password in it. When you submit the form, your browser should offer to remember the password. Once your browser has your password stored, it will ignore autocomplete="off", so you won't have to use the bookmarklet each time you visit the site."

An Add-on I like is Secure Login
