    Save URLs of downloaded webpages?

When a webpage is downloaded, the URL is not saved. Is there any way to have the URL/path downloaded with a page, perhaps as metadata?

I searched for browser extensions and asked if there were any, but it seems that there are none. Someone said that there's no standardised metadata for such files.

Does anyone here know of a solution? Thanks.

Your browser history should have that info. Ctrl+H usually opens it.

I meant webpages that I save (e.g. to the desktop), not just view and temporarily store as browsing data. The browser history contains a list of webpages viewed, and whilst downloading the history page could save the URL of a webpage that I save, it also saves a whole bunch of other stuff and is not automatically done when saving a webpage. I appreciate the suggestion though.

If you look at the Properties for a saved Web page (do you mean the page itself or a link to the page?) it contains the URL it came from. For instance, for this thread:

    Code:

If you mean the page itself then no, there is no way to remember where it cam from other than to do so manually by dragging the RUL to the Desktop too.

This recently became a feature of Chrome - a new line is added to the file. Sweet!
