How about keeping Task Manager open and when you get one of these freezes or crashes

Right click on IE in Task Manager and select Create a Dump File, upload that to be analyzed.

But why have you got Zone Alarm when there is a perfectly good Firewall in Windows 7? Personally I would have MSE, Windows firewall enabled. Malwarebytes to run once a week and Ccleaner.
But forget that for the minute. We are assuming that it is IE10 that is causing the crashing. Just for a couple of days can you try Firefox. Then we will know for sure whether it is IE10 or a general browser problem! At the moment we are jsut guessing where the problem liesWould be interested to know the full list of security software that you have installed at the moment?
I use ZoneAlarm because it is easy to use, is customizable (I can determine what gets blocked and what doesn't) and has both inbound and outbound protection. Win 7 has only inbound protection and it isn't customizable.

ZoneAlarm is the only thing missing from the list in My System Specs and that's only because the field wasn't big enough to include it. I'm using only the free firewall.

All my security programs played well with each other and with IE9 and I never had the crashing problem. It's IE10 that's having the issue. I would just go back to IE9 except for the forum of one of the websites I frequent won't run on IE9. I'm just about ready to blow off that forum and go back to IE9. I tried running IE10 without MBAM and Spybot installed and SAS not running so that the only things running were Avast and ZoneAlarm and still got crashes.

Firefox is NOT an option (and I don't trust Chrome or anything else from Google). I've tried it several times in the past and as recently as last weekend and simply did NOT like it. IE is much easier to use and, with the exception of IE9 and that one website, I've never had a compatibility problem, unlike Firefox. With my ADHD, it's enough for me to learn how to use one browser but switching between two, one only occasionally, would be more than I could handle.

MSE
Malwarebytes Pro
SAS Pro,
I wouldn't mind if you had,
Avast,
Malwarebytes Pro,
SAS Free or Pro
Anything more is overkill.
I don't totally agree. I've found Win 7's firewall to be inadequate (only inbound protection) and difficult to use (no easy to use settings and no visibility of what is going on) so I feel using Zone Alarm's free firewall is justified. I've used it for years and never had a problem.

Sorry to carp on but did Firefox crash for you? I know this sort of thing can get very frustrating, we have all been there more than once but to say "I just don't like FF" is not very helpful. What did you not like about it?

For a better idea of what add-ons you have installed use show all and post screen shots of them,
I do primarily run with adobe flash player disabled/ only enable when I want to watch a video-not often, and I don't have any version of Java installed,
I have a grand total of 9 browser add-ons of which only three are enabled,
Google toolbar-Not the helper/ XLM dom document/ Sysinfo class
ie10 is the only browser I've ever had a need for.

Move it to the desktop, zip it up and attach using the paperclip in the reply box.
