    Transfering Favorites list from

Hi new here. I just bought an HP computer running W7. I was using an HP computer running XP but, alas, as with us humans, old age got the better of it.

Now here is my question. Is there any way to take the favorites list from the XP and install it on the W7.

    Just asking.:)

Hello Kemperhills, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    Yes, you sure could.

    In XP:
Copy and save your C:\Documents and Settings\(UserName)\Favorites folder as a backup.

    In Windows 7:
Copy the contents of the folder above into your C:\Users\(UserName)\Favorites folder.

    Hope this helps, :)
    Shawn

Just Export the favorites from the old I.E. to a file. Copy that file to some type of media, such as a USB flash drive, go to the new PC and Import the favorites into the new I.E.

Internet Explorer - Import and Export Favorites

    and

Add to, view, and organize favorites - Microsoft Windows Help
