Moving email from XP to Windows 7

Since XP will no longer be supported I am planning to move on to Windows 7 on several of my older pc's. One machine in using Outlook Express for email and does Win 7 have Outlook Express or if we need to change to The new Outlook, will my contacts etc be automatically exported from the older Win XP?

Outlook Express isn't available for Windows 7. It was replaced by Windows Mail, then Windows Live Mail (WLM). You might try installing WLM on the XP machine and do the import. See instructions that worked for another poster

Win 7 has no email client, so you will have to download and install one. I and many others use Windows Live Mail without problem, Here is the link for WLM if you want to use it Windows Essentials - Download Windows Live Essentials You only have to install the mail if that is all you want/need. Mail and contacts from outlook express will import ok into WLM. When I moved mails and contacts from outlook express it imported them ok without hassles. I backed up the outlook express store folder and contacts to flash drive and used WLM's import option.
