    YouTube video play freezes

Any time I start a YouTube video play (or as a matter of fact other Internet video), it starts to play and stops and freezes after a few seconds and will not restart the computer unless I go to Task Manager, delete the item and restart the process. Can this be caused by a recently installed router?

Right click the Video and click on Settings,
Drag the slider to the right,

    Switch to Software rendering,

What browser are you using? Is this happening with multiple browsers or just one in particular?

Most Of my suggestions are solely for Internet explorer 9 and above,
    I'd give this a peek,
How to configure your Flash Player settings for maximum privacy and security
Anything effecting all browser would be either a connection issue..

Try playing a Youtube video in Safe Mode with Networking

    Safe Mode

See if the same issue occurs. If not, try a clean start to see if you have a conflict.

I haven't tried safe mode yet (computer or Firefox safe mode?), but am having a similar issue with my W7 desktop (ethernet connected) and my XP laptop (wifi connected). It doesn't matter what browser I use.. FF, Chrome, IE. The video will play for 20-30 seconds, then the video portion will freeze while the audio continues for a short while... then it quits altogether and the time bar resets to 30 seconds max... as if the video (no matter how long) is only 30 seconds long.

Strangely, my gen 1 iPad plays videos via wifi with no issue.

If it is multiple PCs on multiple browsers, then yes, the new router is definitely a likely suspect. A Guy

New router? That wasn't in my mix.

I've now tried FF Safe mode... no change. Also restarted the PC in safe mode and no change. Even the kids' Win 8.1 laptops are having the same issue.

But the iPad runs youtube videos without issue.

I'm thinking Flash has to be the culprit.

Probably a router issue if it is affecting multiple pc's with different OS's and different browsers.
