    Shockwave & Adobe Flash Players

    Hi Folks,
On my Desktop pc's Programs and Features, their are 2 entrys for SW Player & 2 for Adobe FP + a Plug-in for Firefox.
Should I remove all & reinstall or just ignore them.

Shockwave player is not necessary for sites that use Flash for videos and interactive content. Flash Player is, so if you don't know why Shockwave player is there, get rid of it.

Oh, I see now - you have duplicates. I would zap them all and reinstall, if it was me. But it is you, so you have to decide if it's worth doing, assuming it is working as intended despite the duplication.

Internet explorer and Firefox use the same versions but I'm not at all sure if they would share the same single downloaded application,
As long as you use only Firefox and the plugin version I would guess that would enough,
You can always re-download it if prompted to,
    Some thing else to consider,
How to configure your Flash Player settings for maximum privacy and security

Thanks Teerex, at present, all is working well. I probably will remove & replace Adobe FP. Any further info re SW FP would be appreciated.

Shockwave is an older product, mostly used in games now. Chances are you can delete it and never miss it. It is referred to as Shockwave flash, but is not the same as flash. I am actually going to uninstall mine, as it needs to be updated as new versions replace insecure ones.

    There is a Shockwave uninstaller

    Download Shockwave stand-alone installer, uninstaller

I have 2 flash listings as I have the activex version for IE, and the plugin version for Firefox and Opera.
