Windows 7: email attachments are only "shortcuts"

email attachments are only "shortcuts"

1) I received some emails in Yahoo mail with several small text files in each email. When I "save to computer", I can't find the files, only their "shortcuts".

2) Is there a way that I can choose a folder in which I can save these files before downloading the files?

Thank you.
