    Use option 5 from here:
User Account - Reset Password in Windows 7

The sign on process for the e-mail account should have a link named something like "Forgot Password".

    Hello Clayp,

Is this for a "Microsoft account" in Windows 8, or a user account in Windows 7??

Well, the easiest route would be to use OPTION THREE in the same tutorial below if you have a restore point available that's dated before you had this issue.

Hang on. I know you said user account, but just to clarify after re-reading this again with Windows live added, are you trying to reset your Microsoft account password for your email?

If so, then you could use step 2 and 5 in Option Two of the tutorial below to reset it online.
