how do i prevent websites from auto-translating
Hello everyone
I know this is not a problem concerning windows 7, but browsing in general. I still hope this is okay, because I got very good answers I last used this forum.
I noticed over the last few months that there seems to be rising a new website standart, that automatically assumes that I want to view an English website in German, because my IP is from a german-speaking area.
My youngest discovery is this page: https://www.udemy.com/a-blender-quickstart . (this is just an example, my post is dedicated to multiple sites i've been viewing lately)
The problems:
-I am well capable of understanding English and do not need to be patronized in this regard.
-The translation is often faulty and more importantly, only parts of the website are translated, not everything. I notice this over and over (see example link above).
-Mostly I find an option to change the language, but this option is in different places, and loose time searching for this option.
In summary I find this very annoying and feel patronized. I find it ridiculous that I actually have to choose the language option which is not broken manually instead of the other way. And I assume if I want to "save" my language-settings on that page, that generates a new cookie or whatever wich I would find outrageous, if that were actually the case.
With all due respect, to whomsoever is responsible for this new trend: F**k you!
Now to my actual question: is there an option to opt out auto-translation (exept using a proxy to a non-german area) and tell website that I just want to view them in their default language?
thanks in advance
P.S.To prevent confusion: In some browsers there is often also a google-translate bar that asks if I want the site translated and so on, this is NOT what I am talking about.
