I too don't like a busy screen when I for instance want to see my History, IE Temp Files, Favorites, so I have mine set at 'about:blank' (I guess that's considered Home Page)? Then I have my often used sites like 'sevenforum', webmail, weather sites, etc. pinned.

I do use Startpage a lot, also DuckDuckGo but have them pinned also. Never thought about using one of them as homepage but may give it a try.

I'm learning how to use the features in igHome and I am beginning to like it. I have setup two tabs; with a click I can go from my homepage to subpages . One is for weather and on it I have three gadgets showing the weather where my children live. :) On the other page I track news about technology companies. I use three columns, in the first I have links to news about what Intel is doing. The next column is for Microsoft and in the other I have Apple.

I would like to make better use of igHome as a center for tracking events. Do you have any ideas on how to do this? I like Windows Seven Forums, maybe I need a page for it.

    sevenforums.com should be your homepage
I would like to create a tab page with links to threads on Windows Seven Forums. I know how to create a tab to a subpage in igHome, and edit the title of the tab, so I can create a tab that says "Windows Seven Forums." So far the only way I know to add items is to click on Gadgets, choose a gadget and click Add. I searched for a gadget for Windows Seven Forums and did not find one. Can someone help me use tab feature on igHome to link to threads on Windows Seven Forums?

I looked at several of the options, and decided on Netvibes.

Very interesting features - it runs on both Windows and Mac, and they stress real-time and search features, support is available at reasonable price. I wonder what's in the Premium version for $500/yr

I have found nearly all the features I used in iGoogle in igHome. However I'm still trying out igHome's features to keep track of events, publications, and generally what's happening in certain industries I'm interested in. The description of Netvibes sounds interesting. I wonder how I might benefit from their premium version.

I've been a Google ig user for years and it's going to be a huge loss for me, I've looked at all the alternatives and in the end I've ended up coding a rough replica of my personal page that I've been using for the past few weeks and it's adequate but I'd prefer Google to recant and let the service live on.

I agree. How come? Google doesn't seem to care about their users.

I have replaced iGoogle with igHome as the homepage on my browser, and I like it. The change-over was a distraction, but thanks to help found on this forum I have discovered new horizons. For instance, Netvibes, Wintellect, and Super Ad Blocker.

Netvibes provides a browser startpage that can be customized by adding apps to enhance how you gather content and interact with others in your daily digital life. Wintellect specializes in customed training in emerging areas of the Windows environment. They combine web-based courses where knowledge transfer is available to learn at your own pace, pause, rewind and repeat, or you can attend live virtual training where you can drill down, or on-site training tailored to meet needs. Super Ad Block blocks flash and media type pop-up ads, which I find particularly annoying, you can configure it to let through the things you want.
