I found this I will see how it goes
I have the same question. I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED trying to set the default Google search on Chrome to English (google.com), rather than the country I happen to be searching from.
I went into Options > Default search > Manage, then tried to edit the Google (Default), to no avail. I tried adding a new Google URL and making that the new default, but could not manage to do so. Arrrrgh!
Firefox has been eating away at my CPU, but this single issue is keeping me from switching to Google as my default browser. Of course, there's no guarantee I'd keep Chrome as my default browser without all the essential add-ons that I've been relying on in Firefox.

I had the same problem, but this seemed to fix it...
1. Right Click the Address Bar and select "Edit Search Engine"
2. Highlight the Google (default) and click Edit.
3. Highlight the URL and copy it (ctrl + c). Then click Cancel.
4. Click Add, enter Name like "Google English" and put anything in Keyword, it won't matter.
5. Paste in the URL the one you copied and change {google:baseURL} to
Google
6. Click OK and Make Default. Any keywork now you enter in the address bar will now have the english version.
Hope that helps
