    Opening .pls Files in Chrome

Hi, is there any way that the VLC plug-in is opened when I click on any pls link? I do not want to download the pls file and then open it in VLC seperately. I would like the VLC player to be opened in Chrome itself with pls files...

    Thanks

This is a Chrome thing. It would do as you say if you used Firefox for instance. Chrome insists on downloading the file. Even if you manage to get it to open the file after downloading, you'd have to delete the download yourself. This picture is the method suggested to get Chrome to always open a file type after downloading. This is assuming VLC, in it's own settings, is set as default for that file type.

I doubt that you can get that to happen. The best that you can hope for is to automatically start VLC when you click on a link for PLS files. It has to do with the security model. PLS files contain website links. It should be handled differently than the video testing samples that you linked to.
