IE10 and IE11 FTP Explorer view issues

Interesting thread here. Basically if you want to keep using FTP in explorer view with normal functionality then steer well clear of IE10 and IE11.

IE10 wont allow me to open FTP files in Explorer View

Sadly MS shows no inclinations to fix. I feel IE10 and IE11 are a backwards step over IE9 which ticked along very nicely. Trouble is we will all have to use them sooner or later as major players like Google drop support.

I do personally feel MS with Windows 8 and IE10/11 are forcing change for the sake of change. Anyways it's an interesting thread nonetheless and just wanted potential users to to be aware. Of course most of the masses will not use FTP but just in case.

Seems the resolution was simply to drag the file to your desktop and wait for it to download and double click it to open,
    Seems fairly straight forward ?
The file would download in one way or another regardless.

Yep drag and drop still works but I still think it's poor from MS. Another update that breaks functionality.

See if switching browser or document modes reacts differently ?
F12 and click on the options or at least verify what ie10 is defaulting to.
