I did indeed configure from advanced settings. Since I didn't know what else may have been affected, and didn't want to track down the cause, off it went :)

Well, here it is. See the last thread entry.
Anyone with IE10 or IE11 willing to give it a try?
Pls post your settings and results.

    Tested and listed results here

    Hi,

I admit that I have a limited understanding of how PrivaZer's WebcacheV01.dat viewer works but here's what I found.

The screenshots show the Webcache results before deletion, after deletion and rescanned after deletion. The rescan shows only files accessed after the first deletion so it appears to succeed in removing history of opened files.

However the size of the actual WebcacheV01.dat file remains unchanged after deletion. I suspect that this is always going to be the case. PrivaZer's scan results do seem to suggest that indeed the file's content has been modifed but only regarding the user's history of opened files. It's still unclear to me exactly what information is contained in the file.

Just to be clear - the screenshot that shows 17 Traces is prior to deletion and the one that shows 9 Traces is the result after deletion showing only the most recent files.

    Libraries versus My Documents

    Hi Britton,

I find that on my machine the properties/customize option for folders is only displayed when navigating to a folder via C:\Users rather than Libraries\Documents.

I don't know if this helps in your case but it might be worth a look!

It doesn't work with a new folder I create. Formerly if I dropped a lot of images in a new folder it would automatically display large thumbnails. I have to click the option in the upper right of each folder to change it now. It used to work with subfolders too, but they default to details view.

It sounds like PrivaZer cleaned your Shell Bags and deleted any history of folders visited along with their view settings. It's one of the options. As for getting things back to how they were I don't really have the knowledge required but here's what might help.

Check the PrivaZer folder for registry backups that were created before cleanup. Restoring the .reg file might fix things.

Other than that maybe restoring to default folder templates might work:

    Folder Template - Default

Like I said - I really don't have much experience on this issue because on my machine I've turned off Folder Auto Template Discovery and additionally disabled thumbnail caching.

Gary, if I understand you correctly, would this help? Changes to the size, view, icon or position of a folder are lost It involves the Bags Callender mentions.

After running the Fix it the desktop icons line up in a row on the left side of the display when I refresh it. Folder problems remain. Now more messed up.

Edit: Using the download in Shawn's tut, Folder View Settings - Reset All to Default got it done, thanks for the pointer Steve!

    Cleaning Shell Bags

Glad that it's sorted now! Just thought that I'd add that since PrivaZer is designed with privacy in mind one of the options is to clean Shell Bags but choosing that option will reset everything related to folder view settings, size, location, name and remove all trace of deleted folders. I see a similar clean Shell Bags option in Ccleaner (with the CCEnhancer add on installed). I never select the option to clean Shell Bags and instead rely on another program from PrivaZer to list all folder privacy issues and opt to delete individual traces. I've posted screenshots. In my opinion for those with privacy issues regarding folder names and folder history it's a better bet than allowing PrivaZer to go the whole hog and reset all Shell Bags.
