    Cant import all bookmarks.

I had problems with my pc and it turned out that i needed a new motherboard.
I installed all the bits and reinstalled windows 7 32 and did all the updates and got it running ok.
When i went to import my favourites/bookmarks to IE8 the problem starts. It says finished but when i go to look only half of the bookmarks are there. They start from the letter L and go to Z but the A to K are missing. I have 4 copies of thes bookmarks taken at different times before my pc went wrong and they all do not import properly.
On a laptop i have the backup bookmark and if i double click it it shows me all facourites so i thing the backup is correct.
The file is listed as a html and not htm if that makes any difference.

The Favorites are stored in C:\Users\*your user name*\Favorites.

I usually just copy the files in that folder from the old to the new.

That is the easiest way to fix the problem.

I tried that idea but when i open the favorites folder in IE8 the bookmark is there but not the contents.
It is like the IE explorer icon is in the favs folder but there is not a list i can scroll down on.
    Hope that makes sense.

How about copying the content of the favorites folder from your laptop and pasting that into the favorites folder of this system. Just make sure you first deleted everything in the favorites folder of this system - else you will end up with double listings.

    I got it done now.
I was looking on here about trying to restore system image that would not work using win7 and it suggested using Macrium and then mount the image.
Anyhow the full restore never worked but then it got me thinking that maybe i could try and mount the image as a VHD and then copy my favs and then paste them into my favs on the new win7 install.
I deleted the old ones and pasted it in but then i thought it was the same as l-z was first and then scroll down there was some links not in folders and then a - k was last so then sorted by name and all is good.
I dont know why only half were copied or why they wer not in order but thanks for taking the time to help me.
