IE11 wont recognize google products and netflix

I've read how the new IE11 is faster and more secure then...(what?). So, I gave it a try after avoiding it all these years. I set google news as the home page. Never works. Always get the message "This page can't be displayed." If I refresh, same thing. Sometime, it will display if I click "Fix connection problems." Once the page comes up, I go to Options and select "Use current." That doesn't work either.

At least 75% of the time, when I click the YouTube book mark I also get the "This page..." When it does appear, either the page crashes or none of the thumbnails appear.

Regarding Netflix. It takes a very long time for it to come up. When it does, most of the thumbnails don't appear.

It does, however, popup all the other links quickly so I'm on the fence with this one.

    Suggestions, comments, hints?

This news is not new. It is speculated that Google purposely breaks their code with IE so that users download Chrome. If you search at the IE 11 release preview thread here, you'll see Google sites have broken functionality with IE 11 even in Windows 8.1

Seems your having issue with secure sites or namely https:
    https://signup.netflix.com/
Although Google news doesn't seem to be one ?
    Google News
Which is kind of odd because Google search is,
    https://www.google.com/
Like most things it's best to delete browser history and clear the cache to at least start somewhat fresh,
Internet options/ Delete browser history/ Check All of the boxes/ Uncheck the very top box/ Delete. Boot your machine.
Total reset is the next best option/ Delete personal settings when doing so.
Internet options/ advanced/ Reset button/ Delete personal settings.
If you've ever added any of these sites to your safe sites list remove them and any others.
