Update Explorer to 10 or 11

I am still using Internet Explorer 8. It seemed to work OK, so I never bothered to update it.
I now want to do it. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Windows Update shows IE 10 and IE 11.

Should I update to 10, then later 11?
or do both on the same update?
    or just do 11?

    Thanks, cb

I would go ahead and do the IE 11 only. So far doing the incremental updating has not been a proble - but - you will have a better install.

I believe I would take baby steps if your coming from ie8,
ie11 is a drastic step in versions,
Start with ie9 and see how it goes/ how you like it,

    Hello abredt,

I would keep running Windows Update until it is current. Let Windows sort out want it needs.

    Windows Update Settings - Change

Also, update Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, and Java, as well.

Doing this will help keep your computer Virus and Malware free.

    Download and run CCleaner.

Make sure your AV is updated, and run a scan.

Run a scan with Malwarebytes and remove anything it finds.

Download and run Auslogics Disk Defrag.

    Hope this helps,
    John

I keep my AV up to date, but have always been reluctant to update stuff that works.

After I get IE up to date, I will update the others.

I was going to suggest the same thing ThrashZone just said, update one version at a time go from IE8 to IE9, try it for a few days and then update to IE10, as it maintains the same user interface as IE9. And if you like the way IE10 works then update it to IE11. Also, the user interface will change when you update to IE9

Some people report problems with 11 - but 10 works fine. For the time being I stay with 10 - just prudence.

This isn't going to help much. I had IE 11 downloaded for me today and I have just found a website that I visit regularly and it isn't displaying properly. Works fine in Firefox and worked OK in IE 10 so may roll back to IE 10. What a pain!

Run the website/s your having issues with in "Compatibility View."
