    Firefox causes screen to flicker

Has anybody encountered this with the latest firefox version?

I installed it and loaded my old profile to keep my information, but every other time when I load a page, the entire computer screen flickers (say I make a page refresh and then start doing something else, the screen will still flicked when its done loading it) at first I thought it was my graphics card, but it only occurs with firefox as it had never happened with previous version while I used the same card.

    Thanks for your input.

    Try disabling Hardware acceleration

    Open FF> Tools> Options> Advanced> General> Untick Use hardware acceleration when available

See if that helps. You might see if your GPU driver is up to date, as that may allow you to use Hardware acceleration.

If you are referring to Firefox 25.0.1 I have been also having issues with this new release as have a few of my friends. We all experience different issues, but I noticed some common ones. Yours is amongst them, I also noticed that if a friend want's to share a file with me via zippyshare or another bitlocker, the download will slowly stop to a crawl and never finish. I think the proper thing to do would be to wait it out for the next update. Firefox seems to update pretty frequently, so unless you find a solution, I would wait it out till the next update. I am sure they are aware of this @ FF headquarters. 25.0.1 is just not a very stable version in my opinion. It may also be a conflict of addons if you have any. Like just the other day I found out that running flashblock and noscript is a big no no together, since Noscript already contains the flashblock features and can cause instability.

Here is a web page that lists incompatible addons for firefox http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
