Links in Outlook 2003 not working

Using Windows Pro 64 bit with IE 11 as my default browser.

I have noticed this in just that last week or so. None of the links in my email will open IE 11. It also happens in other applications that used to work. Links from Word seems to work fine. When I click on a link in my email a window opens saying "Locate Link Browser". I have no idea what that means or how to do it.

In my email I have to copy the link to note pad then copy that to the IE address box to get to the link I want.

It would be nice to get links working again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I'm still using Outlook 2003 (I have Office 2003 Professional) with both Win 7 and Win 8.1. Not having any problems, with I.E.11.

I'm using Word to edit my e-mail messages. If you don't have yours set that way, that is one possibility.

    Try this:

Start> In search box type default programs> Click on Set program access and computer defaults> Click on check next to Microsoft Windows> This should show your web browser as Internet Explorer and e-mail program should say Use my current e-mail program> Ok your way out and try it again.
