Internet Explorer keeps hanging when typing in any search field

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 and am having a weird issue with any program where info is typed in like IE 10, IE 11, Firefox, iTunes, etc.

Here is what is going on - start up IE11 and loads OK. I can type in the URL bar and get to any address I type but if I go to google or yahoo or bing and try to type in the search field, IE 11 instantly hangs and does not respond. Same with the yahoo and bing website. Any website that has a search field exhibits the same issues.

Firefox exhibits the same problems but I can't even type in the URL field.

If I got to, say this forum, and try and type in my login credentials, IE 11 hangs.

If I open iTunes and try to sign into the store, as soon as I try to type in my username iTunes hangs just like IE 11.

I have tried running a full scan with MBAR and Malewarebytes AntiMalware and nothing shows up.

I have also gone into IE 11 and opened the Internet options, selected advanced and reset Internet explorer settings which did not help

I tried creating a new user on the machine and logging into that account and experience the same problems.

I also tried firing up IE 11 with no add-ons with same results.

I have noticed that when I start IE 11, the task manager instantly shows two new processes, iexplore.exe and iexplore.exe *32 - is this normal?

I also tried booting into safe mode with networking and this WORKED as far as the browser working like it should.

So, does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on and how to correct the problem?

    Any help much appreciated.

    An update to this post

I have been troubleshooting and narrowed down the culprit to a Startup Item labeled Bluetooth Software by Broadcom Corporation. The command is C:\PROGRA~1\WIDCOMM\BLUETO~1\BTTray.exe

When I check the driver of this USB Bluetooth device, it shows drivers dated 8/7/2013 with version number 12.0.0.7600 so it seems to be up to date but this entry is clearly what is causing my issues as reloading it will cause my problems and not allowing the entry to load cures my issues.

Now to see if I can find an more current version of the driver to cure the issue.

    ThrashZone,

No. I am actually using IE 11 on the machine I was referencing in the above post. When I first registered on the site I put in specs of the machine I was working with at the time.

Firefox in my preference, just seems quicker, easy to use, but it is the most memory hungry of browsers, Maybe things are running slow because there is maybe some malware of some sorts? Or the hard drive is nearing full? there is alot of culprits for a computer running slow, let us know how you get on buddy! Good luck

Good job tracking down the problem, you are not the first

BTTray.exe is able to record keyboard inputs
Do you really need this? It is just the tray icon showing the status of the bluetooth. It is not the bluetooth itself.
