I searched everywhere and even found the window that allows you to show all commands and pick what you want to be on the ribbon. But there is no insert picture anywhere yo be found, just insert file which adds the pic file to the mail but doesn't display it. I can't believe any email client let alone outlook would be without such a common feature so i assume there must be a way.

You would need to upload the file to a file sharing site like skydrive.... in order to copy and paste it in the body of the email where you want it to be,

Huh? I understand how to upload and link a file/picture as you'd do at a forum, but i'm talking about adding a pic to a email i'm sending. That would be nuts of them to expect you to do that !
I'm pretty sure i tried it after "popping out" but i will chack after work today when i get home. I know i did, but maybe i missed it so i will try again. The second link i know doesn't work because it doesn't have the picture insert option.

Ok, i didn't mention this because i forgot due to the fact i was trying to figure this out a few days ago and was at work when i created this thread. So i forgot that it does give the picture option under the "insert" tab but that i can't because everything in the "illistrations" section after clicking insert are greyed out. I figured maybe i need to set emails to rich text but i couldn't find where to do that like i have in other clients, or if it even has that option as on/off.
I figured it out, but it's not ideal. You have to open a reply or new mail then under "format" choose HTML. The problem is, it only works for that email then resets to plain text next time you wanna send an email. And YES, in options it IS set to HTML. I even set that to plain text, closed outlook, then reopened it and set it to HTML again just to try and jolt it into working. Still i open a new email or reply and it's set to plain text. Just once, just one friggin time i'd like to see MS do ONE thing that makes sense when they create a new software. How do they somehow make everything less user friendly with every new release? Monkeys for employees maybe? Good god !
It gets worse...now i see that even if you choose HTML in a NEW email, insert pic is still greyed out. Only in a REPLY can you format it in HTML and the pic insert is no longer greyed out till the next time you reply. What a fiasco.

can't you just go to the picture and click "Copy"
then go to the body of the email and click cntrl v and just paste it in?
I see the most common answer usually given to your issue as set to HTML, so it may be the only way? See if you can set html as the default for all messages
SourceChange the format of all new messages
Click the File tab.
Click Options.
Click Mail.
Under Compose messages, in the Compose messages in this format list, click HTML, Plain Text, or Rich Text.
If that is what you have done and it's not working
You can also drag and drop images into Outlook.
