IE10 and PDFs from Google links?

Whenever I want to open a PDF document from a Google link, IE 10 asks me to either Save or Open it. But does not do this automatically except for example, when I go inside of a website were I can download a manual which is in PDF format, it does open automatically without asking me to Save or Open.

But for example, when searching for Cars.pdf in Google, and when I want to open the PDF from the actual Google search result page, I get the resulting prompt like shown in my print screen.

It does open PDF files within a webpage automatically. That's fine.
But not from Google search results.

This was not the case with IE 8.

    Running win7 32 bit

    Thanks

    Hey win7,

It may just be a security feature. usually it is not wise to have just any document open automatically, as some may contain malware.

The pdf's that open automatically just may be due to the way they are accessed, rather than IE being 'broke', etc. I would venture to say that this is built in to the browser.

A good way to test this out is using another browser, such as firefox. See if the situation changes

Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to help solve your problem to your expectations.

That is the default behavior since IE9. It is a security feature, and cannot be disabled as far as I am aware. Have a read on their thinking/design
