    Yahoo mail acct deactivated

Trying to sign into my yahoo email today I got a message saying my account was deactivated due to not being used for an extended period. I use it more than once every day. Is anyone else having issues?
I can't contact them without logging in, but the account is gone.

Not that specific one but, ever since they imported Marissa Mayer from Google to be CEO (huge mistake!), Yahoo Mail has been having all kinds of problems, interestingly enough, similar to the ones Gmail was having..

I found this which might help you.

They did that to one of my Yahoo accounts. My main one I had they kept telling me to change my password

every other week because of "suspicious activity", but it never showed any when I checked my login status.

    I just dumped Yahoo altogether.

I'm guessing you didn't have a secondary email address for account recovery?

I was able to log into a yahoo.com and an older ymail.com account without any problems. It had been 126 days since I last loged on to that ymail account. Something must have gotten messed up on your account.

    Thanks Jeannie and Derek.

Jeannie your link went to a PayPal survey, who also pisses me off, so I filled out their survey. I don't know Marissa Mayer though.

Derek I do have a Hotmail acct for recovery but no messages there. Yeah, I've also has the "suspicious activity" too, maybe too many political mails regarding the nation's top executives.

Odd thing, I logged into my wife's Yahoo mail and replied to myself, now the account works.
Yahoo has been my main account for 13 years and is my contact for a ton of my other accounts, pharmacies, utilities, banks, etc.

Anyway for now it's "fixed". I t has been very buggy for some time. One day no mails would even open. I tried contacting them, their server was busy, imagine that!

I just now set up a secondary address (thanks, derekimo, for the idea) so I will have a way to recover should this ever happen to me. Now that it's been setup, I can't figure out how the big fat holy hairy heck I'm supposed to get into the *&^%$#@! thing!

I was getting the change password due to the suspicious activity crap a little while back. I had to change the stupid several times before one finally "stuck" (a not so nice one that expressed my frustration, btw).

I wish *&^%$$#@! Yahoo would get the Mail fixed and leave it the heck alone!

She's the person Yahoo hired from Google to be the new CEO who will "fix" Yahoo. She has "fixed" it alright. She eliminated telecommuting for all employees, no exceptions (that was heartless, to put it politely), and Yahoo Mail has become even more screwed up and is frequently breaking. Yahoo needed fixing but she has NOT been the answer. I wish Yahoo would send her back to Google and here someone else (other than Steve Ballsmore).

Well that didn't last long, 34$%^&$)#Yahoo!
I looked at your link Jeannie but I don't even have a "Reactivate My Account Without Protection." link. I get this:

Jeez, now it works again, maybe tomorrow they'll "Fix" it again. I agree, Yahoo mail was great about 4 versions ago.

    Well no it doesn't.

I get this page first, then the above one.

I'm using IE 11 and Yahoo mail won't keep me logged in on my laptop (Win7 pro x64) but all is fine with Win 7 Ultimate x32 on my desktop!

I'm so frustrated with this ... it's not the easiest password to type over and over again

Do you have IE11 set for https? If so, the password for Yahoo won't stick (leastwise, that's what happened with me with IE10).
